One of the most common types of HVAC systems that you will find in homes is a forced-air system. This uses a system of ducts throughout your home to deliver air to all areas of your home. A problem that some homeowners have to deal with is when there are ducts that are leaking. This creates two issues. The first is that you will lose energy from the leaking ducts. The second is that the air in the areas where the ducts are leaking could be seeping into the ducts, and with it, dust and smells.
The most common area to find leaks is near the HVAC unit since the pressure is higher there. Using thermal imaging it is easier to pinpoint where there are trouble areas since the temperature difference will be noticeable.
